When the UK’s leading designer of traditional & contemporary timber frame buildings make contact to commission you for a brand logo design you absolutely take note and give it your all.
Roderick James Architecture has offices in Devon, Scotland, London & Wiltshire. They specialise in using green oak and their designs pay particular attention to sustainability, but also the emphasis on light and space.
Over the last 10 years they have won multiple awards including The Daily Telegraphs Best Eco Home Award, I Own Britain’s best Home Award & The Daily Mails UK Property Award. In that time they have also featured in over 100 magazines and multiple television programmes as well as newspapers, books and countless online references.
Avoiding square rooms is within the RJA ethos, providing more fun and informality whilst also having the versatility of the materials they work with to provide amazing traditional or contemporary designs.
BAARN is a new arm of Roderick James Architecture with an offering of multiple timber-frame kit-houses that are beautiful, affordable and adaptable. All come with sustainable energy systems, high levels of insulation, underfloor heating and include an emphasis on inventive use of natural light.
Do More Design was tasked with the brief of creating a brand logo for BAARN. The themes for the brand were simple, modern, quietly sophisticated and clean. With the ethos of the RJA brand there were also obvious further connotations of the brand fitting the natural sustainable materials being used and of course the fact that it was to represent award winning designers.
The team at Roderick James Architecture shared that they had a particular font that they liked and throughout the course of the project, they provided feedback to the entrants which really helped steer the correct direction.
